Obituary of Dorothy Weaver
Dorothy Weaver (née Bird)
Born in May 1959, Dorothy succumbed to cancer after a brief yet very brave battle in her 56th year.
She will be deeply and profoundly missed by her husband Evan, her son Oz and his husband Shane, her daughter Sonja and her husband Brad, and her grandsons Holden and Winston. An irreplaceable member of the Bird and Weaver families, Dorothy is also survived by both of her parents and mother-in-law, as well as her combined 23 siblings and in-laws in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Raised in Chatham and a longtime resident of London, Dorothy treasured her family, music, theatre and travelling, along with genuinely having fun and seeing humour in situations. Those who knew Dorothy valued her acceptance, her care for the fine details in life, and her dedication to her work and family. She will be deeply missed by all she touched with her light, her warmth, her generosity of spirit and her smile.
The family would like to extend special thanks for the compassionate care and support provided by Dr. A. Marr and Dr. K. Leslie, as well Dr. G. Schreier and the team at Victoria Hospital Palliative Care. Cremation has taken place; a celebration of Dorothy’s life will be hosted by the family. Those wishing to make a donation in Dorothy’s memory are asked to consider The London Aeolian Hall, The Actors’ Fund of Canada, Wellspring of London or a cause of your choice.
We love you through and through, yesterday, today and tomorrow too.
