We are heartbroken; Carlos, a great and true friend to our son Cameron. We are blessed and fortunate to have Carlos in our lives, he was such a kind soul and a great joy to be around. My favourite thing about Carlos was his laugh. My earliest memory of it was when I was in grade 10 and he was in grade 9. We were both sitting in the cafeteria, he was at a table behind me, and I'm not sure what he was laughing at but he had a huge belly laugh for several minutes. After a little while I started laughing because his was so infectious. I had to turn around and tell him that I loved his laugh so much, and we became friends after that. He was always such a happy person, always smiling and willing to talk/joke around. He will be sorely missed, and my heart goes out to his family at this time. God and heaven have received a beautiful soul.

I’ll never forget your bright, smiling face and the little twinkle of good natured mischief you had in your eye. And how confused I was on the first day of school when my attendance said Carlos but you identified yourself as “Manny...because everyone says I look like Manny from Modern Family.” It revealed a lot about your nature and sense of humour that you took people’s observations and ran with them.
