Obituary of James Angus McInnes

MCINNES, James Angus

28 April 1942 – 7 Sept 2023

On Thursday 7 September, James (Jim) Angus McInnes of London Ontario   passed away surrounded by family at the age of 81 years.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Yaga; children: Nick (Iren), Katie; and James (Lia); grandchildren: Michelle, Maddie, Angus, Sophia, Emma, and Georgie; and dear friend: Mary Desaulniers and her family.  Beloved uncle to Rick, Gord, Marilyn, Carole, Graham, Grant, Maureen (deceased), Michael, Steven; brother-in-law to Lori Von Anrep (deceased) and Susan Fischer. Jim was predeceased by his father Angus and his siblings Jack, Rosemary, Angus, Pat and Ambrose.  

Jim was a life-long teacher for the Thames Valley Board and was loved by his students.  He had a passion for art, antiques, gardening, travelling, history, music, and loved a good game of chess or bridge. Jim was gifted with a brilliant mind, a quick-witted sense of  humour and the ablity to make everyone around him feel special. We are thankful for all of the precious gifts he gave to our family and to this world.  Jim will be forever missed.   

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, September 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 o’clock.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Friday morning, September 15 at 10 am.  Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
