Obituary of Vivian Marie Malone
The family of Vivian Malone is deeply saddened to announce Vivian's passing on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Vivian Malone beloved wife and best friend of Michael Malone. Proud mother of Daron Pope (Jen), Kerry Malone (Chris) and Darcy Malone (Eva). Dear sister of the late Louis Destremps and cherished sister and soul mate of Christine Greiner (Noel). Loved daughter of the late Louis and Palmina Destremps.
Vivian was a very devoted and loving grandmother to Dezmond, Lily and Brady Pope, Capryse and Emmerson Dubé, Sage and Arias Lunham-Malone and Oliva, Joshua, Ava and Brianna Malone. Fondly remembered by her step grandchildren Adalina and Elleah Sookram and their mother Audrey. Great-grandmother to Roman and Ellahni Lunham-Day, Koda and Jaxon Lunham. Vivian was a beloved and special aunt to David and Max Destremps, Jesse Dixon and Jennifer Mare.
Vivian will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her extended Malone family. She will be missed as well and fondly remembered by many friends at Wingate.
Vivian taught English as a second language with the London/Thames Valley Board of Education at H.B. Beal and Westminster Secondary Schools for over 25 years. She had numerous colleagues who became very dear lifelong friends. Vivian was a very dedicated and respected teacher who always claimed she had "the Best Job in teaching!" In retirement Vivian enjoyed theater, reading and was an active member of Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign doing fundraising, making, and selling “animal” baby blankets. Vivian made numerous friends at London Kiwanis in her yoga and Nia classes. Going to lunch and potlucks with colleagues and friends from both teaching and Kiwanis was a favourite pastime.
The Malone family would like to thank hospital staff at Parkwood 3B West and University Hospital 7th floor for the excellent care provided to Vivian.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2:00pm until the Words of Remembrance Service at 3:00pm. A private family inurnment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Saturday, March 4, 2023. In lieu of flowers a donation to one of the following charities is suggested; Canadian Cancer Society, London Mission Services, Doctors Without Borders or Salthaven Wildlife Rescue and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
