deVeber, Christine Anne “Chrissy”
Christine deVeber died peacefully at home January 3, 2022 in her 64th year. Pre-deceased by loving parents Barry and Iola (Plaxton) deVeber and brother Barry deVeber. Dear mother of Nico Iola deVeber of Toronto, and beloved sister to George, Gabrielle, Michele and Eileen deVeber of London and Oakville. Loving aunt of Mikaela, Madeleine, Alexander, Nicole, Liah, and Adam. Chrissy was a beautiful free spirit with sky blue eyes. She was a talented musician and was widely admired for her lead guitar and vocals with ‘punk rock’ bands the Zellots, Ukase and others. She was also a gifted writer whose written notes and letters to family and friends were poetry. Throughout her life she was a dreamer who never lost her vision of a better world. Chrissy loved deeply, and was deeply loved. In her last years she fought her diseases bravely, never losing her sense of humor. She is now free of her suffering and likely jamming with her soul-mate Barry in heaven with Mom and Dad cheering them on. She will be profoundly missed. Visitors are welcome to John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 2 to 3 o'clock. Funeral Service to follow in the John T. Donohue Funeral Home Chapel at 3 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Registration is required. Please e-mail donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca with the first/last name and telephone number of those attending.
