My sister, Jane Colligan, told me how she first met her best friend, Christine. It was 1972 and they were students at H. B. Beal Secondary School. One day they passed in the hallway and they were wearing the exact same outfit. Christine had on a light blue corduroy blazer over a matching blue tank top and Jane was wearing the identical blazer and tank top in light green. They had shopped at Le Chateau. They had a laugh and joke about how much they looked alike with the same taste in clothing and they both had long fair hair. Like sisters. They shared a class and one day they had a conversation after school. They were amazed that they both had a love and obsession with music and they had the same dream of being in a band. They clicked and became the best of friends and several years later their dream came true when the Zellots was formed. The rest is history. It seems like fifty years of friendship has come and gone in the blink of an eye. Christine has fulfilled her dream of being in a world full of peace and harmony and beautiful music and no more pain. Jane is left with many precious memories of her soulmate, Chrissy.
Rest in everlasting peace in the arms of Jesus, Christine.
We will miss you terribly.

I didn't know Chrissy very well, but my brother Karl did! I have fond memories of him sneaking me into Fry's at 15 to watch the Zellots play. I'll bet they're up there clinking a drink. My condolences to the family. Please give my regards to Jane.

The All of the DeVebers,
When we were growing up and spending the summers at Amberley I did not have the pleasure of getting to know Chris like I did the other. But through the pictures I can see in her beautiful eyes she was DeVeber through and through. Beautiful. Talented. A zest for life. And now she lives eternally in all who knew her. May she rest gently in Barry and Iola’s arms and may God’s loving peace fill her always.

BAND BIO THE ZELLOTS
https://www.reverbnation.com/Zellots2/song/7257041-soldiers
Artist Bio
The band came out of the early punk scene of 1978 - 82 when Jane Colligan(bass) and Christine deVeber(guitar) returned to London, Ontario after the disbanding of the Zellots in Vancouver with Heather Haley (vocals) and Connie Knowe(drums).
Chris and Jane returned to London and reformed the Zellots with Cathy Destun(vocals) and Greg "Zedman" Moore(drums). They wrote and performed originals and obscure covers in the local thriving punk scene of London, Ontario.
Early influences, were the Sex Pistols, Generation X, the Velvet Underground, Wire, Psychadelic Furs, Stranglers and Iggy Pop.
The Zellots delivered spellbinding performances while pushing the creative envelope with raw energy, rapidly attracting a strong following. They opened for artists such as John Cale (of the Velvet Underground), Bauhaus,Simple Minds,Viletones,Psychadelic Furs and the Demics,(several of whom expressed an interest in the band) gigging mostly in London, Toronto and Detroit.
They recorded a 6 song EP at Emac Studios with Rob Nation released on CD. They also added members John Francom (sax and keys) and Gilbert Smith (rhythm guitar), with Craig McGauley filling in for Greg for a while. They also recorded an album at Springfield Sound Studio, but sadly, lost track of the master tapes after the studio folded and the band split up.
Three songs from the EP have been remastered by Peter J. Moore (talented and respected Toronto producer, and old friend of the band) a few years ago and released in Japan on a compilation "You Only Get One Chance at the Big Time" through Keith Grave and Wizzard On Vinyl Records.
Currently a project is in the works to find and remaster live recordings of the band for a possible release on vinyl - we will keep you posted ..

As the youngest of all Plaxton cousins, my interactions were limited. But, as time passed and the age gap dissipated, we had a few memorable rocking sessions together! She was always a shining, bright, gentle star for me, with her big, beautiful, blue eyes. A very gentle, kind woman, who wore her heart on her sleeve. If you ever needed a receptive ear, Chrissy was always there to listen and despite her own hardship, offered sound advice, thoughts, ideas. She was a big lover of life and tried to find beauty in every part of it, especially with people and those dear to her. My deepest sympathies go out to beautiful Nico who has taken on very similar beautiful traits as your Mom-she was honoured to have you as her daughter. Love to you Nico and I know your Mom was very proud of your loving partnership. Your recent marriage. Possibly, that made it okay to pass. Thoughts and lots of love to my cousins-Gabrielle, Michelle, George and Eileen. I am happy to know she is soaring, flying high, jamming with cousin Barrie Junior and my Aunt Iola and Uncle Barrie-back in the arms of the Mom abd Dad. Love Natelle xoxo

Memory & Tribute to Chrissy deVeber a real Loving Soul and awesome cousin who Loved to Rock from Mark Plaxton:
Christine was a fun and very loving older cousin who really enjoyed Rock’en Hard. Chrissy was great to me during my years in London - all throughout high school.
Chrissy kindly headlined several of my concerts (e.g. the Nuts & Bolts Party at the Progress Building) as well as a couple of my Battle of the Bands Barn Bashes.
The Zellots didn’t take “crap” from anyone and the All Girl’s - Woman’s by the time they hit my world – Band new how to fire up a party and get the crowd going with Chrissy on lead guitar & vocals pumping out Spectacular Fired Up Rock.
Chrissy gave more than she took, was full of genuine love, and gave the best healing and long-lasting big hugs.
Rest In Peace my cousin and enjoy being together with Baz and you Parents Iola & Barry.
My Family and I offer our sincere condolences to Nico, as well as Chrissies' siblings George, Gabrielle, Michelle & Eileen.
You will be missed Cuz and as always I really appreciated the love you gave as per our last contact attached.
Love & Cheers,
Mark Plaxton
