Obituary of Catharina Johanna Gysbers

Gysbers, Catharina Johanna In her 98th year, formerly of Ilderton, passed away peacefully at McGarrell Place in London, surrounded by the love of her family. Predeceased by her late husband Theodorus "Theo" in 1982. Catharina was a devoted mother to her seven children: Neil (Suzanne), Bill (Cindy) and John (Lori) all of Ilderton, Joe (Nenita) of Delaware, Mary (Michael) Cheeseman of Gander, Newfoundland, Frances and Anita of London. Loving and cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Trevor; Jennifer, David and Andrew; Jonathon, Luke, and Sarah; Daniel and Diana; Christopher, Vanessa, Tyler; and Michael. Survived by her brother Leo (Carmen) Luyks of Oregon, California; sisters-in-laws Johanna Gysbers, Tina Luyks, Ria Gysbers and Dimphie Luyks. Predeceased by her seven brothers, and one sister. Catharina was born in Steenbergen, Holland on March 22, 1918 and immigrated to Canada in April of 1951. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderfull staff at both McGarrell Place and Horizon Retirement Residence for all their outstanding care and support. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday, August 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London. Prayers Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Building Community Campaign or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
