Obituary of Anthony Clarence Paul Fitzmaurice

Fitzmaurice, Anthony Anthony Clarence Fitzmaurice passed away peacefully in his 91st year. Much loved father of Bernard Fitzmaurice, Ann Young and Jean Fitzmaurice. Dear brother of Margaret Furlonger. Sadly missed by grandchildren Marnie, Darryl (Debbie) and Rebecca. Great-grandchildren Chloe, Christian, Joshua, Alexander, and Ben. Anthony was known for his sharp wit, intelligence, and sense of humour. He was a caring father, dedicated to the well being of his family and friends. Anthony was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the RAF/RCAF. He completed a full tour of operations in the Far East Command. At the Request of Lord Mountbatten, allied Supreme Commander his crew flew a surrender Group Changi P.O.W. Singapore to assure the release of allied civilian military personnel held capture by the Japanese 1945. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday evening, July 16, from 6 - 8 o’clock then at St. Patrick’s Church, 377 Oakland Avenue at Dundas Street, on Friday morning from 10 o’clock until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11 o’clock. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
