Obituary of John Ruthven Gillett

Gillett, John R. "J.R." Passed away at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario on Tuesday May 19th, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of 32 years to Lynda Gillett. Dear father of Dan (Mary-Margaret) Gillett of Chatham, Bret (Lorry) Dawdy of London and Stacey (Jeff) Hobbs of London. Loving and adored grandfather of Maggie and Lucy Gillett, Mitchell and Amanda Dawdy and Jordan and Katie Hobbs and great grandfather of Sophie Alexander. Dear brother to Noreen (late John) Burchiel, late Denis (Jayne) Gillett, Wayne (Jeannine) Gillett all of Chatham and Dorothy (Tom) Bielby of Grimsby. Loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. John will be fondly remembered by Lynda's brother and sister and their extended families. John retired from Frito-Lay Canada (Pepsico) after 42 years of dedicated service. John and Lynda loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations with their family and friends. John's golfing trips to Augusta with his amazing group of buddies was one of the highlights of his life. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 waterloo Street at King Street, London on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning at 10 o'clock.
