Obituary of Bernard Joseph Rollings

ROLLINGS, Bernard Joseph - At Parkwood Hospital on Tuesday May 12, 2015. He was born March 18, 1940, to the late Sidney Joshua and Veronica Rollings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marie Macdonald Rollings; parents, Sidney Joshua and Veronica Rollings; granddaughter, Anneka Jenna Rollings; sister-in-law, Margaret Anne Rule; and nephew, John Kevin Connelly. Beloved father of Michele Krisa (Mark), Craig Rollings (Sherry), Tracy Rollings and Kirk Rollings. Grandfather to Sydney and Declan Krisa, and Abby and Chase Rollings. Survivors include his mother, Margaret Jane Rollings; sisters, Donna McCarthy (Bob) and Denise Haunn (Tim); brothers, Rick Kennedy (Pam), Brian Kennedy (Sue) and David Kennedy (Joanne); sisters-in-law, Gloria Connelly (John) and Irene McArthur (Tom); brother-in-law, Harvey Rule; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bern had a long career as an agent with Sun Life of Canada in Toronto before retiring and moving to London. In addition to the unconditional love he had for his family, his life's passion was his vocation as a permanent deacon and his Ministry of Charity, serving the poor. Ordained in 1976, Bern faithfully served the parishes of St. John the Evangelist in Weston and St. John the Divine Parish in London until our Lord called him home. Visitation at St. John the Divine Parish, 390 Base Line Rd W, London, Friday May 15, from 1:00pm-4:00pm and 6:30pm-9pm, and Saturday May 16, from 9:00am-10:30am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment will be held privately at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mt. Brydges. JOHN T. DONOHUE FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
