Obituary of Ellen Theresa Doucette

Doucette, Ellen (Helen) Theresa With thankfulness for her life we mourn the passing of Ellen (Helen) Theresa Doucette (nee McCarthy), in her 85th year at McCormick Home, London, March 13, 2015. Helen was born in Skibbeeren, County Cork, Ireland, on November 2, 1930. She completed her training as a Registered Nurse in England. She ended her long nursing career at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston, Ontario in 1995. After her retirement, Helen was involved in numerous charities in her community, and enjoyed swimming, and walking her dogs in Angus, Ontario. Helen is predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Leo Doucette (2008), by her parents, John and Mary, her sisters, Mary, Doreen, Rosaleen, Angela, her brothers Denis and John, and her grandson William Joseph (BJ) Sneddon (2013). Helen is survived by her brother Michael McCarthy (Doris) and sisters Dympna O'Sullivan, and Anne (Rogers Chambers), her two daughters Dympna (Dan Cybulski) and Liz Sneddon (Ken McLennan), her grandchildren Anne Cybulski (Dinh Tran, and daughter Mary-Ellen), Scott Wain (Amanda, and son Max), Julie (Craig Malik), David Cybulski, Mary Cybulski (Stephen Newlands), and many nieces, nephews and friends. Helen's family wishes to thank the caring staff and volunteers at McCormick Home, for their loving and professional care towards Helen. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. A mass celebrating Helen's life will be held at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta St, London, Ontario on Tuesday morning March 17, 2015 at 10 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
