Obituary of Richard H. Pountney

Pountney, Richard Herbert Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 at the University Hospital in his 76th year. He fought hard and touched the lives of many people through his gentle nature and infectious laugh. Loving husband of Marie Elaine Pountney for 53 years and father of Timothy Pountney (Fern Livingstone), Tony Pountney (Suzanne "Suzie-Q" Cardinal), Lisa Lim, Brenda McLean and the late Samantha Pountney. Cherished Papa of Katie, Jessica, Isadora, Kai, Lauren and MacKenzie. Richard was truly a generous individual who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He spent the last 15 years of his life diligently fulfilling his crucial role at the Health Network and maintained countless friendships along the way. Richard will be remembered for his endless supply of candy, his passion for golf, and the unconditional love he had for his family. Richard's loved ones would like to send a special thank you to the incredible staff on the palliative floor of University Hospital for making sure that he was always comfortable and well looked-after throughout his brief stay. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London, on Saturday, January 24 at 1 o'clock until the time of the service at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
