William Ranger

Obituary of William Glen Ranger

Passed peacefully in the presence of his family on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the age of 70. Glen was the loving husband of more than 43 years to Catherine (Chisholm). Proud father to Kenneth (Vivian) and Frances (David Peplinski), and adoring grandpa/papa to Lily, Aaron, Daniel, and Elisabeth. Predeceased by his dear parents, Frank and Eileen Ranger. Survived by his siblings, Ron (Ruth), Gail Walsh (Suresh), and Bryan (Anna) as well as his siblings-in-law Jeanette Chisholm, Donald (Evelyn) Chisholm, Libby (Chisholm) MacDonald, Albert (Joan) Chisholm, and Carmel Chisholm. Glen will also be remembered with love by his aunt, Della Ranger, his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins, especially Betty Murray. Glen was a talented, creative tool and die maker who had a long career and many achievements with the Ford Motor Company. Many of his happiest times were spent working with antique tractors, making maple syrup, and puttering in the garden at his Ottawa Valley second home, Sleepy Hollow. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Heatherton, Nova Scotia in the coming weeks. Glen will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery in Heatherton, which is Catherine's hometown and another of his favourite places. As expressions of sympathy and in thanks for their superb care, donations to the Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital, London, or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by Glen's family.
