Obituary of Eleanor Lewis

Lewis, Eleanor (nee McParland) At Westmount Gardens in London, Ontario on February 16, 2020, Eleanor Lewis beloved wife of the late Frank Lewis (2012), in her 98th year. Loving mother of Martin and his wife Kelly Sullivan of Ottawa, Matthew of Calgary and Michael of London. Dear grandmother of Alexander and Justine. Predeceased by Dr. Stanley McParland and Donald McParland. Survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Eleanor was a graduate of the St. Josephs Convent College in North Bay. Once married she & Frank moved from Rouyn Noranda Quebec and settled in Montreal. There she raised her three sons. She worked as an Executive Assistant in the medical field. Eleanor was extremely well read, bright and savvy. She was an active participant in the Federal political scene. In the mid 70’s she and Frank retired to London, Ontario. There she was an English Tutor for Literacy London for over 5 years. She was a volunteer at Birth Right for many years. Eleanor was an avid stitcher and quilter. She belonged to the CEG London evening group from its inception and continued to participate for many years. She has inspired many to be creative. Most of all she loved having her house full of family and friends. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London, on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 2 to 4 o’clock and 7 to 9 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1 Fallons Lane, London, on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 o’clock. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery in London. Donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated.
