Obituary of Ken Bambrick

Ken Bambrick February 17th, 2020 At the age of 90, at his home in London, surrounded by his family. Husband to Mary A for 64 years. Proud father of Mary Kathryn (New York State), Linda (Washington, Maryland), David (Dawn) and Larry (Lynne), both of Toronto. Happy grandfather to Emma, Samantha, Claire and Hannah. In his own words: What a ride! Ninety years of good health and more than 60 years with the love and support of my wife Mary. Her curiosity, energy and “let’s try that” attitude took us to places and introduced us to people we wouldn’t otherwise have met. Along the way we produced four offspring of whom we are everlastingly proud. Mary Kathryn, who took the road less traveled. Linda, our information sponge and stalwart companion. David (Dawn) forever kind, loyal and a joy. And Larry (Lynne), who believes that Good Luck lives at the corner of Hard Work and Opportunity. I’m also indebted to daughters-in-law Dawn and Lynne who collaborated with David and Larry to give us three wonderful grandchildren – Emma, Samantha and Claire – who have brightened our lives. I enjoyed my work and colleagues in the news field at the Toronto Telegram, The London Free Press and CBC-TV. But even more I enjoyed my UWO teaching years and the students who passed through, never failing to teach me more that I taught them. Cremation has taken place, but on May 9th, at 11 AM, there will be a Celebration of Life Service at Colborne Street United Church, 711 Colborne Street, London. I’ve picked some of my favorite music but there will also be a reception for telling tall tales and renewing acquaintances. We hope you can make it. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
