Obituary of Frederick George Tipple

Tipple, Fred Peacefully, at LHSC Victoria Hospital, Fred Tipple in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Lee Tipple (1992) and his partner Helen Allingham (2019). Beloved father of Trudy (David) Drinkwalter, Gordon (Heather) and Elaine Tipple. Grandfather of Tracy Davies, Erin and Nathan and great grandfather of Connell. Fred was a WW II Veteran with the RCAF, joining the 6th Group Bomber Command and then the Snowy Owl 420 Squadron, completing 23 operations. Sunningdale Golf Club was an important part of his life both for golf and Christmas.For 39 years, he was Santa Claus at their children's Christmas parties. He asked for no compensation, but instead, a donation to the Lions Club. He raised a lot of money for the Lions Club in a variety of volunteer activites. However, being Santa for many organizations was his favourite role. Our thanks to the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Parkwood Veteran's Program and at Victoria Hospital for their amazing care of Fred in his final days. We are fortunate to have these dedicated professionals. Interment has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Sunningdale Golf Club, 465 Sunningdale Road West, on Tuesday, October 1st from 1 - 4 pm.
