Obituary of Teresa Veronica Brennan

Teresa Veronica Brennan (née Kirby), RN passed away peacefully Wednesday night at Parkwood Institute surrounded by family and friends. A woman ahead of her time, Tease was a nurse, a teacher, an entrepreneur, and a prolific volunteer. She was a loyal friend, nurturing relationships for decades, and was steadfastly devoted to her children and her family. A proud Newfoundlander, the time Tease spent as a public health nurse in the outports of Newfoundland profoundly shaped the rest of her life and left her fearless and determined. Tease was predeceased by her parents, William and Sarah Kirby, her brothers, Hank and Bill Kirby, her brothers-in-law Donald McKinley and Jimmy Sheridan, her sister-in-law Till Kirby, her ex-husband, Michael Brennan, and her granddaughter Mary Bee. Tease will be sorely missed by her sisters, Regina (Walter) Andrews, Carol (John) Burke, Lucy McKinley, and Margie Sheridan, her sister-in-law Gail Kirby, her children, Dawn, Nonie (Michael Peirce), and Keith Brennan, her grandchildren, Jocelyn and Andrea Peirce, her beloved nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Her family would like to thank Tease's doctors at the Victoria Family Medical Centre, and the outstanding staff at Parkwood's Palliative Care Unit. The family will hold visitations at Donohue Funeral Home on Monday, May 27 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM, and a funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 28 at 10:00 AM, cremation to follow.
