Obituary of Elaine Marie Smith

On the evening of Thursday, March 28th, 2019, Elaine died at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Helen Geraldine (1963) and Thomas Joseph (2006). Elaine is survived by her children James (Brianne) Horner, Christopher Horner and Kaitlin Horner, her grandsons Nathaniel, Liam and Presley. She will be missed by her brother Kevin Smith, Peter Smith (Sandra Dupret), John Enright, Mark (Cristina) Enright, by her sister Jennifer (Greg) Reynolds and her second mother Janine Smith. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews will keep Elaine in loving memory. Elaine was cherished by an incredible community of friends and health care workers. She was a curious soul with a warm smile who loved time with her grandsons, her dog Lucy, enjoyed reading, was passionate about all things pertaining to Paris and committed to teaching and helping others. She graduated in June of 1997 from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, April 5th from 6-8 o'clock. Vigil prayers will be held at 5:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Saturday morning, April 6th, at 10 o'clock. Inurnment of ashes at St. Peter's Cemetery on Saturday April 13th. Donations to Holy Family Parish or St. Joseph's Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
