Obituary of John Victor Crowther

Crowther, John Surrounded by his family at University Hospital on January 26, 2019 John Crowther courageously passed away after a long illness at the age of 81. Loving husband of Nancy Crowther for 18 years. Beloved father of John (Rita) and Rob (Elizabeth), step-father to Stacey (Ian) Sutton. Proud grandfather of Ireland, Daniel, Hunter, Forrest, Regan, Karlee and Aaron. Brother to Linda and special uncle to Jaci Chick. John was a 21 year survivor after a transplant of both his heart and a kidney. He was a passionate sports fan, volunteering, coaching and supporting numerous teams throughout the city. He was a fixture at the sporting events of his children and grand children. John was also a master at trivia with extensive knowledge of countless subjects. The people who engaged with John in his life always summed him up in one word........kind. The family would like to thank the staff at the Dialysis Unit at Westmount Mall for their care and compassion. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday from 5-8 o'clock. Funeral Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 310 Southdale Road East, on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Trillium Gift of Life Network would be appreciated.
