friendship will never be forgotten. Moe and Dad met in 1971 as merchants
at Oakridge Plaza. Dad owned Oakridge Shoe Repair and Moe owned Murree
Flowers. They were both immigrants from different countries who formed a
brotherly bond that transcended language, race and religion. Another bond
of brotherhood was formed with Cec Detta. Dad and Cec met at the Boys and
Girls Club of
London. Cec called and visited daily and kept him up-to-date on the latest
happenings at the Club when he could no longer attend. Thank you Cec for
your unfailing friendship with
our father. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the
nurses, PSWs, doctors, staff, and the Palliative Care Team on A4 and A9 at
University
Hospital. Your compassion, caring and respect for our father during this
last phase of his life was truly remarkable. We appreciate all that you
did for him. Thank you to all the staff at the Wonderland South Medical
Centre. Thank you to the pharmacy staff at the north London Costco; you
made our father
feel like a king every time he came in. To the Tiny Tots kids – you
brought so much joy to Nonno Vito, may you always remember him every time
you eat a cherry tomato. Dad was a very appreciated and loved neighbour.
If you were lucky enough to have met him, you were his friend. If you
spent time with him, he wanted you to leave feeling better than when
you arrived. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral
Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Thursday, January 10th from 2-4 and
7-9 o’clock. Prayers Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be
held at St. Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, London on Friday January 11th
at 11 o’clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum – St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Boys and Girls Club of London or to
Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
