Obituary of Erwin Smith

Smith, Erwin Joseph Surrounded by his family Erwin Joseph Smith peacefully passed away at LHSC University Hospital on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in his 88th year. Loving husband of Sally Smith and the late Pauline Smith. Cherished father of Cathy Smith (Joe Madziak) of Toronto, Paul Smith of Midland, Michigan, Cathy Olson (Mike) of Yellowknife, NWT, Brian Fright (Cheryl) of Rosseau, ON and Tom Fright (Sharon) of London. Proud granddad of Jessie and Jake Olson, Shane, Sean, Lisa (Mike) and Spencer Fright, Claire Jones-Fright and great granddad of David Tissington. Dear brother of Patsy, Bernadette and Jean and brother in law of Jean (late Bob) Smale, Mildred (Jim) McConville, Marilyn (Alvin) Taylor and Barbara (Harry) Fonfara. Also much loved by Betty (Jan), Joe, Kasia, Floyd, Mr. Mabel, Pudge and his extended family and friends. Erwin was a life long employee of CP Rail. He began his career with the Bridge and Building Division then became the Ontario General Chairman of the Brotherhood of Maintance of Way Employees Union. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, July 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1 Fallons Lane, on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Thursday evening at 7 o'clock.
