Dear Martin, Joanne, Mary and family,
My condolences on the passing of your mother.
I have fond memories of time spent at your home on Gordon Ave. Playing hockey on the road outside your home. We didn't have to move out of the way for too many cars. After playing outside for an hour or two, we were always welcome to come inside and get warmed up with refreshments and knitting. Your mom had to be so patient - unravelling rows with dropped stiches, loosening tight stitches - while we knitted (or tried to knit) scarves.
I also have a lot of memories from days spent at Lakeside and at the beach in Parkhill. Your mom and dad were a big part of those memories. I remember fun in the water and wonderful picnic lunches.
It has been my pleasure over the last several years to serve your parents and other friends when they gathered to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries at my parent's home. I enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with your parents and hear about how the family was doing. I am thankful that we were able to enjoy the company of your parents for so many years.
I remember your mom's laugh; especially if it was something your dad said. I hope she is laughing with her Bert today.
Kindest regards,
Alice
