After John retired from 3M he took such an interest in our first startup company and its prospects for the future that he joined us as our CEO and helped us build the credibility necessary for outside investment. Along the way he taught all of our team many useful skills and approaches, all based on his long and successful career at 3M. The lessons learned about business, teamwork and organization have stayed with us through other successful startups and we will always remember John as a great friend and ally.
We know John will be missed by everyone he came into contact with as he was just that sort of person who was a pleasure to be around. Our time with him was certainly special and we know that his passing will be difficult for everyone.
