Obituary of Linda Loretta Kipping
Linda Loretta Kipping
Linda left this world peacefully surrounded by love, on Canada Day, 2017. She leaves a devastated family and saddened friends that cannot believe how quickly she was lost to a battle with cancer. She was taken from us way too soon. Linda entered the world under difficult circumstances. Nevertheless, from her first breath she was embraced by a large loving family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, step siblings and a host of cousins. So it is no surprise that her favourite song was "We are family". She will forever be Aunt Kip to Dylan Burger (Tanya), godson Elliot Burger (Sarah) and John Gunther. Although Linda loved to travel, her home was London and St. Thomas. For more than 25 years, she and cousin Bill (Kipping) lived side by side in St. Thomas, supporting each other in the ups and downs of day-to-day life. Linda leaves her loving memories to be cherished by all her family. Over her working life, Linda made strong and lifelong friendships. One such friendship developed into a lasting love and she grieved deeply the loss of her life companion Mike in 2010. For Linda, the lines between family and friendships didn't exist and all can agree that she had a heart of gold. She was a lover of cats, a master gardener and is renowned for her Koi pond. She loved life and would be the first to host a party for special family occasions or family reunions and her Boxing Day parties are legendary. She was always ready to love, comfort or defend her extended family and friends. We will all miss her cheeky smile and her hearty laughs, but we are comforted to know that she is now with the loving grandparents who raised her, her beloved "Mikey" and her mother. Friends will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 4 o'clock until the time of the Memorial Service at 6 o'clock. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Animal Aide, St. Thomas, Ontario.
