Obituary of Salvacion Rocero Garcia

Salvacion Rocero Garcia, the only daughter of the late Nicanor Garcia and Nora Rocero Garcia, died Tuesday, the 21st of February,2017, at the University Hospital in London, at the age of 69. Salving, was the nickname that she was affectionately referred to by her family, relatives, and by the people who were close to her. Salving was born in Manila, Philippines, on the 3rd of February, 1948. She graduated high school at the La Consolacion High School in Caloocan City, Philippines in 1964. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Centro Scholar University also in the Philippines in 1969. She loved good food and enjoyed the company of her brothers’ families especially at special occasions: Christmas( which was her favourite holiday), New Year, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Birthdays. Salving had a strong devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary, she prayed the rosary daily and often attended mass. She chose single blessedness as her vocation and offered her chastity and purity to God. Her strong commitment is admirable and inspiring. She is survived by her brothers, Antonio, Ruben and Alexander, her nephews Randall, Raymund, Russell, Kenneth and CJ, her nieces Lalaine, Ruby, and Marivi, and all the grandchildren of her brothers, Ruben and Alex. Salving was preceded in death by her mother Nora, her father Nicanor, and her brother Cesar. The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Donohue Funeral Home at 362 Waterloo St. at King, in London. On. On Saturday March 4, 2017, there will be a short viewing at 9:00am-10:00am at the funeral home. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10:30am which will be officiated by Rev. Fr. Peter Wojakiewicz. The internment will follow after the mass at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
