Obituary of Michael David Sonier

SONIER, Michael David – Peacefully at home on Friday, February 3, 2017 in his 67th year, Michael Sonier, beloved husband of Deborah Sonier (nee Howard) for 43 years. Amazing father of Carey Lidkea (Ron), Krista (Kawa) and David (Cassandra). Adored grandfather of Alyssa, Hunter, Lily and Emma. Michael will be fondly remembered by his mother Eleanor Sonier and his siblings Floyd, Karen Hagle (John), Les and Tom (Ellen). Predeceased by his father Henry Sonier (1982). He will be sadly missed by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Michael touched the lives of many, either through his work as a letter carrier, on the golf course and at the ballpark as where he was the Umpire in Chief for the city and at Dreamers Park. Special thank you to Dr. Hoben for all his personal care and home visits. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Justin's Church on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Cremation has taken place. Donations to Prostate Cancer Canada would be appreciated.
