Dear friends Brennan's (not cousin Brennan's) - I'm saddened to hear of your mom's passing and was informed by 2 of my cousins as well as Jane Sanders (a fellow quilter and classmate of Susan's). I was immediately taken back to lovely memories of living on Cheapside St and visiting Regent St and the summer cottage. Your parents were such good friends to my mom and dad and every time I spent in your company was so much fun. I remember when your parent were away and we (the Brandon's) moved into your house for taking care of all of us kids. Dad would go home to Cheapside house to work in his office, but poor mom tired her legs out going up and down so many flights of stairs with laundry baskets, etc. Another memory, your cottage on Lake Huron with big dorm rooms and the lift up and down to the beach and stories with daddy BIll.
As my dad had a bookkeeping/accounting practice, April 30th was a pretty important date with mom taking the last of the tax returns to the post office downtown to be stamped before midnight. But at some point that night, your parents and some other friends arrived to toast the end of tax season and to party into the wee hours. Somehow Al never arrived downstairs on May 1 before noon. I've just now had another memory of your parents stripping wallpaper and painting at 536 Cheapside St. As I said, your parents were very good to my mom and dad.
Ahh but those days are long past although fondly remembered. You had a great mom and dad and I know that you miss them both.
Fondly
Jane
