Obituary of Colleen Marie Pickering

Pickering, Colleen Marie (nee Goetz)  It is with great sadness we say farewell to Colleen Marie Pickering who passed away surrounded by family and friends at her home in Thorndale on Friday, October 7th in her 51st year. Beloved wife of Gary Pickering. Proud mother of Ryan and Rebecca. Loving daughter of Margaret Goetz, sister of Bill (Sherry) Goetz, Frank Goetz, Mark (Nadine) Goetz, Patricia (Chris) Bulley, Ben Goetz and Anne Goetz (AJ Beasley). Sister-in-law of Julie Lakin, Dana and John Edwards, Craig and Margaret Pickering, Jim and Bea Pickering. Predeceased by her father Mark Goetz, sister-in-law Pam Goetz, father and mother-in-law Robert and Shirley Pickering, brothers-in-law David Pickering and Henry Lakin. Colleen will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and students. Colleen grew up on the family farm in Kenilworth where she learned the value of hard work. She later moved to London for school and became a teacher. She shared her many talents through various ministries at Mary Immaculate Parish including choir, youth programs and as Co-Coordinator of Deaf Ministry for London Diocese. Colleen inspired many people through her faith and love of God, family, music and teaching. She will be remembered by her smile and kind heart. May God hold her in the palm of His hands.   Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Monday, October 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Immaculate Parish, 1980 Trafalgar Street, London on Tuesday, October 11th at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Kenilworth on Tuesday afternoon at 5 pm.  Donations to Mary Immaculate Parish (Sacramental Services) in London or Sacred Heart Church, Kenilworth would be appreciated.
