Obituary of Lily Galea

Galea, Emmanuela "Lily" (nee Farrugia) Peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on April 29, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones. Emmanuela "Lily" Galea in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony "Tony" Galea in 1989. Lily will be greatly missed by her most loved daughters Carmen (Edward) Placzek and Cathy Harris; and her most precious grandchildren Richard, Jeffrey (Carly), Robert (Amy) Placzek, Nicole (Michael) Walters, Cassandra (Josh) and Christopher Van Wiechen. Her adorable great grandchild Alexandra Walters. Her brother Carmenu (Maria Concetta) Farrugia and sister-in-law Mary Farrugia. Her niece Josette (Philip) Barbara, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces/nephews and family in Canada, Malta, Sicily and Australia. Lily is predeceased by her parents Carmena and Joseph, and by her brothers Paul (Dolores), Julian (Frances) and Salvu Farrugia. The family would like to thank the doctors/staff at Caressant Care Bonnie Place, St. Thomas, for their amazing respect, support and care of Mum, and to the doctors/nurses on the 5th floor at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. A special thank you goes to St. Anne’s and St. Michael’s Catholic Churches for their many prayers and blessings. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside Street, on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London. Prayers Wednesday afternoon at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
