Obituary of Loretta Annabelle Collins

COLLINS, Loretta A. Peacefully at Chelsey Park Long Term Care on Friday, August 12, 2011 with family by her side. Loretta was in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the Late John Patrick Collins. Loving mother of Gayle Collins, Elaine Collins, and Anne Dale (Ian). Proud grandmother to Darryl Beavis (Karen), Dawn Bright (Dave), Steve McGregor (Christy), Scott Lumley, Erin Dale, Collin Dale (Courtney), Kristen Dale; great grandmother to Alyse (Colin), J.D., Brendon, Liam, Cameron, Jackson, Allison, Parker, Nathan and Tegan, and great-great grandmother to Henry. Also survived by a favourite niece Celia Burns and family friend John Duffy. Predeceased by her children Patricia and Jerry and her 12 siblings. Loretta worked for many years as a private duty nurse at Victoria and Westminster Hospitals. She liked to say she worked for the government as a nurse for 25 years but they looked after her for 35 years. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care and kindness Loretta received from the 4th floor staff at Chelsey Park. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Sunday evening, August 14th from 7-9 o'clock. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Church, 46 Cathcart Street on Monday morning, August 15, 2011 at 11 o'clock. Interment at St. Thomas Cemetery.
