Obituary of Johanna Catharina Ahlers

AHLERS, Johanna Catharina (Anne) Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer at Parkwood Hospital on July 23, 2011. Loving wife of John Ahlers for fifty-three years. Loved mother of John Michael and Cathy Madden (Patrick). Dear Oma of Ryan Ahlers, Amanada, Patricia and Andrew Madden. Anne was the youngest daughter of August and Hendrike Melenhorst (Bakker). Born October 17, 1932 in Coevorden, The Netherlands. Predeceased by John Michael's wife Lynn (Johnston), her sisters Riek Mars (Hendrik), Anna Soppe (Gradus), Gertruida, Jo Belt (Johan), Grady Echtemeijer (Hans), her brother Dieks and brother-in-law Bernard op de Woert, sister-in-law Helen Kamphuis (Herman). Survived by her sister Marie op de Woert, brothers Piet (Sientje), Antoon (Anne-Marie) and August (Trees). Sister-in-law Annie Smit (Kees), Tiny, brother-in-law Bernard (Grady), Otto (Margaret), and Gerry (Anouk). Also survived by several nieces and nephews in Canada and The Netherlands. Our sincere thanks to the health care providers at Parkwood, Palliative Care. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. Mass of Ressurection will be held at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Road West on Wednesday morning, July 27, 2011 at o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to London Area Right to Life.
