Off the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London died peacefully on September 22, 2010 at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Sister was in her 88th year and 68th year of religious life.
Lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Florence Dochstader of Sarnia; many nieces,
nephews, friends and the Sisters of her religious community. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Olive (Foerster) formerly of Sarnia; sisters Mary Van Rooyen and Lillian Egan; brothers Louis and Harold. From 1946-62, Sister was an elementary teacher in London and Seaforth. In 1962 she travelled to Cayalti, Peru where she was a missionary in the Zana Valley for twenty-seven years.
Following her return from Peru, Sister lived in Windsor where she engaged in parish
ministry and outreach to the Hispanic community. Jean's long life was a
testament to faith and joy. She loved people and her outreach was inclusive and
expansive. All services for Sister will be held at the residence of the Sisters of St.
Joseph, 485 Windermere Rd., London.
Visitation on Thursday, September 23 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
Vigil Service on Thursday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. Interment: St. Peter's Cemetery. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
