Obituary of Giorgio Sante Facca

Facca, Giorgio Sante It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Giorgio Sante Facca, our beloved husband, father and Nonno, who died at the age of 65, on Wednesday January 1, 2014, peacefully with his family by his side. Loving husband of Eleonora (Copetti), dear father of Angelo, Nadia (Val Morgado) and Sylvia (Kyle Zimmerman) and grandfather to Olivia and Matthew Morgado, and Nathan Zimmerman. Born in Azzano X, Pordenone, Italy, Giorgio immigrated to Thunder Bay with his family at the age of 16. He was a skilled master carpenter who took pride in all the homes he built and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 1946. He was also a member of the Marconi Bocce Club of London and a loyal Montreal Canadiens fan. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, vegetable gardening and growing fruit trees in his backyard. Predeceased by his parents Angelo and Adelia Facca, his brother Olivio Facca, his sister Maria Facca Coral (Italy), and his father-in-law Tarcisio Copetti. Survived by his brothers Redento Facca and Paolo Facca and dear cousin Domenico Facca and their families. Also survived by the Copetti, Coral, Mascarin, Nascimben, Pigat and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sanatani, Dr. Reid, Dr. Maria Parent and Dr. Joshi. Also a special thank you to the support workers from St. Elizabeth, V.O.N. E-shift, the V.O.N. and CCAC. A heartfelt thank you to friends Sandro Battel, Albert and Cecile Zarzeczny, and all family and friends for their love and support. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday evening from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday morning from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. Prayers Monday evening at 8:15 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Regional Cancer Program C/o London Health Sciences Foundation or the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario would be appreciated.
