Obituary of Mary Agnes Myles

Myles, Mary Agnes Theresa (Walsh) The family was with Mary when she went home to be with the Lord, Monday, October 31, 2011 in her 89th year. Mary was born in 1922 the first of 3 children to Ada and Bill Walsh. Mary is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Arnold, her parents, brother Gerrard and her son Jim. Always smiling and happy, Mary loved her 9 grandchildren - Nicky (Shaun), Kristen (Sean), Kelley, Jonathan, Michael, Bailey (Fraser), Matt, Lindsay (Joel) and Mark. They will miss her dearly. Mom has 2 great grandchildren Finley and Scott who always brought joy with their visits. Right to the very end Mary's pride for her 5 sons was so evident, Bill (Jo-Ann), John (Sharon), Jim (Anne), Ron (Sue) and Tom (Helen). She leaves behind her sister Ann Welsh and former daughter-in-law Kathy Nafziger (Ron). As a strong catholic Mary raised her family to follow God's way. She and her sister Ann volunteered for many years at the gift shop at St. Joseph's Hospital. They regularly visited the elderly at Marian Villa, as their mother Ada did before them. She loved the priests and people of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church where she and Arn had been one of the founding members, they were family. Aunt Mary will be missed by her many nieces and nephews from the Walsh and Myles families. Our Mom had a zest for life; she loved to dance, was quite the tease, and enjoyed a good laugh. She had a heart of gold and many friends to show for her faithfulness to so many. We want to thank Mary's two guardian angels - her daughter in law Sharon and friend Valerie. They both gave selflessly of themselves to make our Mom's quality of life better. Thank to all the staff at the McCormick Home who loved and cared for our Mother in her last years. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, November 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Service will be held at North Park Community Church, 1510 Fanshawe Park Road East, on Friday, November 4th at 11 o'clock. Cremation with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to St. Joseph's Hospitality Centre (Soup Kitchen) would be appreciated.
