Basic, Ljubo Peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on Sunday December 29, 2013, Ljubo Basic loving husband of Dragica, age 79. Ljubo was born on February 10, 1934 in Brocanac, Hercegovina, Croatia. Cherished father of Vesna Zilic (Branko) and Suzana Mlinarevic (Ante). Beloved grandfather "Dida" of Matthew "Mate", Kristina, Mark, Nicholas and Daniella. Dear brother of Iva Tonkovic (Jure) and Anica Altenhof. Predeceased by his brothers Milan, Ivan and Vlado in Croatia. Dear uncle of Joe Tonkovic (Stephanie) and their daughter Andrea, Kathy Quinn and her children Michael and Diana, all of London and Vlado, Zlata, Dijana, Branko and their families all in Croatia. Ljubo was an active member of St. Leopold Mandic Parish, London Croatian Soccer Club and the Croatian Community. Ljubo will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday January 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 2889 Westminster Drive, on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. Donations to St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church would be appreciated.
