Obituary of John Maria Emanuel Feron

Feron insert K of C crest After a struggle with numerous health problems, John Maria Emanuel of London, died suddenly at London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital on April 2nd, 2007, in his 77th year. He was the devoted husband of Harriette (nee Heyen) for 50 years. He was a loving Father and proud Opa to Andrew and Cathy Feron and their children Justine, Matthew, and Joshua; Michael Feron and his children Brian and Nicole; Paul and Wendy Feron and their children Alexandra and Meghan; Monique Feron and her children Karl, Luke, and Danielle; and Yvonne and Richard Hart and their children Heather and Mark. John is predeceased by his brothers Pierre and Zef and will be remembered by many relatives in The Netherlands. John was born in Geleen, The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He spent most of his life working as a Broker in the life insurance business, where his personal and caring approach helped many people cope with death and tragic loss. John contributed to his community in many ways. He was a true believer in the co-operative system and was committed to the Credit Union movement. John was a member of St. Willibrord Credit Union where he served on the Board of Directors for 35 years, and as Chair of the Board from 1970 to 1980. He also served as a Director on the provincial board of Credit Union Central from 1976-1987. John served on the Board of Directors for the Dutch Canadian Alliance and recently, was a Board Member for Camp Olalondo. John was a parishoner of St. Peter's Basilica, where he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Resurrection Choir. John also volunteered at the AIDS Committee of London. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. The Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at St. Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Thursday morning April 5th, 2007 at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Remembrances may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
