Peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home, with family members by his side, William Kenneth (Bill) Trudell on December 5, 2006 in his 96th year. Survived by his beloved wife Jean (Stewart) in their 69th year of marriage. Dear father of Peter, Mary Jane, Carole, William (Jennifer), Paul (Jane), and Barbara (Allan). Loving grandfather (Gramps) of Peter (Becky), Lisa (Guy), Eryn, Blair, Taylor, Clara, Thomas, Bradley, Caylin, Emily and Kelly. Dear great grandfather of Lindsay, Andrew, Megan, Jack, Benjamin, Sarah and Yoko. Survived by his sister Marion Hartsell. Predeceased by his brothers Jack, Leonard and George and sisters Dorothy, Winnifred, Eunice, Carol and Evelyn. Bill had a terrific career in the movie industry spanning almost 50 years. He retired in 1975 after having been manager of the Capitol Theatre in London for over 4 decades, affectionately known throughout that time as "the mayor of Dundas Street". Bill then enjoyed a second career with the Western Fair Association serving as a director for over 20 years and as president in 1989. He was also a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus and a director of the St. Peter's Cemetery Board. Throughout Bill's busy life he was devoted to his family and his church and he enjoyed peace and tranquility in tending his gardens. Many thanks to the staff at Extendicare for the wonderful care they have provided to Bill over the last 10 months. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church, 515 Cheapside Street, on Saturday at 12 noon.
