At Queens Village for Seniors on Thursday, September 28, 2006 Watler Zielinski, 85. Predeceased by his beloved wife Helena (2004), one brother and three sisters in Poland. Will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Janina, Konstanty, Danuta and their spouses. Proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Born in Andrychow, Poland September 16, 1921. Walter met and married Helena Konradi in Augsburg, Germany June 23, 1947. Their daughter Janina was born 1948. Walter moved his new family to Belgium in 1949 where he worked as a coal miner. Their son Konstanty was born 1950. Friends of the family encouraged Walter and Helena to immigrate to Canada in 1953. Walter provided for his family working the gold mine at Val D'or, Quebec and uranium mine at Elliott Lake, Ontario. Their daughter, Danuta was born 1956. The family made one final move in 1962 to London. Walter started his career at London Psychiatric Hospital in 1964 retiring as a psychiatric nursing assistant group 3 in 1985. Walter (Wally) developed his special skill in dealing with people being admitted to L.P.H. His compassion for individuals in need was the stepping stone to establishing the recovery process and future relationship between Doctor and patient. Walter and Helena enjoyed retirement by travelling across Canada coast to coast camping and fishing. Private family memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements for interment are entrusted to John T. Donohue Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Cancer Society in Walter's name.
