Obituary of Michael Simko

Michael Simko, P.Eng. 1924-2013 Slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord at Parkwood Hospital on Monday, November 4, 2013. He was the son of the late Michael and Mary Simko and brother to the late Joseph Simko. He is survived by his wife Anna, and their children Robert, Diane and Thomas. After six years of service in the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War, he studied engineering at the University of Toronto. He was always fond of his connection to his alma mater. His entire engineering career was with Northern Electric, later known as Northern Telecom and then Nortel, working in Montreal and London, where he resided since 1972. An avid reader, in his retirement years he found even more time to expand his understanding of science and the latest technology. The family is grateful for the expert care and attention he received from the wonderful staff at Parkwood Hospital. Visitors will be received at The Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Parkwood Hospital, 801 Commissioners Road East on Wednesday morning from 11 o’clock until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Cremation with interment at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to John T. Donohue Funeral Home.
