Sister Albertine O'Connor
Margaret O'Connor at Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph, London on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, Sister Albertine O'Connor (Margaret O'Connor) of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London in her 89th year. Lovingly remembered by many cousins and sadly missed by her cousin Raymond Murray, his wife Karen and their son Jason. Sister Albertine was raised in LaSalette and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1935. She received her Teaching Certificate in 1941 and began her teaching profession in London. Sister Albertine taught in the primary division in Sarnia, Windsor, Woodstock, Kingsville, Seaforth and Langton. During her twenty one years in education, she was a nurturing presence to the children in her care. Following her retirement to Mount St. Joseph she assisted with great fidelity and generosity in service to the Community. In the past few weeks as her health failed, Sister Albertine's gentleness and patient waiting on God served as a source of inspiration for Sisters in Ignatia and Mount St. Joseph as they kept vigil. The community is grateful to the nursing staff for their loving care of Sister Albertine. May she rest in eternal peace. Resting at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1486 Richmond Street, London, on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 1:30 - 4 pm.
