Kathleen Graham

Obituary of Kathleen Graham

At home, following a lengthy illness, in London, Ontario on Friday, August 30, 2013 in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Thomas Bruce. Loving mother to Troy Marie Marshall (David) and Todd Richard (Jayne). Devoted and much loved Nanny to Kathleen, John and Nicholas Marshall, Emily and Amanda Graham. Our mom was born and raised in Halifax, N.S. and met her husband Tom at a YMCA dance in 1952. Dad, serving in the Navy, was quick to snap her up and they were married in 1953. Mom lived the life of a typical "Navy" wife and stayed at home taking care of us kids and everything else, while Dad was at sea. They resided in Halifax until 1972 when they moved to London. It wasn't until Dad's second career at GM diesel that she was able to follow along with him and they spent a great year in Cairo, Egypt seeing the pyramids, the Nile, the Valley of the Kings and travelling throughout the country. From there they spent another year in Tumbler Ridge, Northern B.C. and again saw much of the surrounding wilderness. Mom suffered throughout most of her life with Lupus but always was able to provide a great home and life for her family. She always took great joy in her children and grandchildren and was rewarded with their unconditional love. Kathleen (Kay) is predeceased by her parents Horace (Bob) and Marie-Louise Steel and sister Ivy Marceau (Harry). Survived by her brother and sisters, John Steel (Pam), Shirley Blanchard (Roland), Florence Zinck (Dexter), Veronica O'Neil (David), Beatrice Grant (Jim) and Lillian Steel. Special thanks to Dr. Michaele Fleming, the VON Palliative Care Team, Dr. Catriona Andrews, Dr. Mark Vincent and Dr. Janet Pope. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside Street, London on Tuesday, September 3rd at 10 o'clock. Private interment will take place at the Canadian Armed Forces National Cemetery in Ottawa at a later date. In memory of Kathleen, donations may be made to the Shearwater Aviation Museum Foundation, P.O. Box 5000 Station Main, Shearwater, N.S. , B0J 3A0. Arrangements entrusted to John T.
