Obituary of David John Frauts

FRAUTS At home, on Saturday, October 9, 2004, David John (Jack) Frauts, in his 89th year. Predeceasd by his wife Angela (October 11, 1990). Father of Michael (Cathy), Timothy (Cathy) Gregory (Sandra), Anne Marie (Alan Weedon) and Mary Ellen (Robert Byck). Grandfather of of Katie, Matthew, Megan, Ian, David, Christopher and James. Survived by his youngest brother, Reg (Sally) of Belleville. Best friend of David Wright and special friend of Ruby Parradine. Born in Trenton, Ontario, Jack survived being torpedoed in the North Atlantic on his way to service as a pilot officer in the RCAF 434 Squadron (Flying Iroquois) during World War Two. He was shot down over Germany in July, 1944 and was a Prisoner of War until the liberation of Europe in 1945. On his return to Canada, he became a long-time employee of Canadian National Railway, as a fireman and locomotive engineer, and rose to the position of Regional Superintendent of Transportation until his retirement in 1980. Jack was tremendously proud of his family and was loved and respected by them. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 o'clock. A Memorial Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday morning, October 13, 2004 at 10 o'clock at St. George's Catholic Church, 1164 Commissioners Rd., W., Byron. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
