Obituary of Michael Finigan

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lindsay Michael Finigan, in his 59th year, surrounded by his loving wife Deirdre and his closest friends at University Hospital, London, Ontario on August 9, 2013. Mike is survived by his best friend and wife, Deirdre (Snider) and his beloved cat Max. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Milne and Luella (Teed) Finigan. Mike will be truly missed by his best friend and business partner, Sean Cunningham, the entire Cunningham family, and his long-time friends, business colleague Peter Story and fishing buddy, Don Ross. Mike will forever be remembered by a large circle of close friends and colleagues that he cherished throughout his lifetime. Mike graduated from the University of Western Ontario and enjoyed an accomplished career as an investment advisor with Midland Doherty, Burns Fry, CIBC Wood Gundy and eight years ago followed his dream of opening his own office with Sean at Raymond James. Mike and Deirdre, in 1988, took a leave of absence and travelled the world for a year. Upon returning from travels, Mike founded the clothing import business, Baliwear, which he cultivated for eight years before returning to the investment business. Always the consummate host at home and at their Port Franks cottage, Mike loved spending time reading, cooking and above all, fishing. In memory of Mike, a celebration of his life will be held on what would have been his 59th birthday, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Grand Hall, Windermere Manor, London, Ontario at 4pm. Deirdre requests that donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of London Foundation or Mission Services of London, two charities that were very dear to Mike's heart.
