After a life lived with dignity and grace, Mary "Doris" Simpson passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, December 3, 2007 in her 93rd year, surrounded by her family. Doris was predeceased by her husband John Peter (Jeep), brother Clarence and her son Ian Alexander (Goose). Doris was a devoted mother of Peter Simpson of London, Janet Edwards of Oshawa and Jeannie Buckles (Jeff) of Calgary. She was lovingly known as Grandma Goose and will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Adam, Aaron, Katie and Alexandra.
Doris held a special place in her heart for Cape Breton Island, where she lived and trained as a Registered Nurse before moving to London. She was a kind, generous and loving soul with a great sense of humour. Everyone that knew her understood how grateful she was for all her blessings. Doris was loved by many friends, some who were with her in her final days including Sister Jane, Diana, Velma, Marion and Gail. They family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers that helped make her last days comfortable.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a Funeral Mass Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 10 am at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to John T. Donohue Funeral Home 519 434-2708. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
