Obituary of Salvatore Galera

GALERA

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, on Friday, October 31, 2008 Salvatore Guiseppe "Sam" Galera of London in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Eleonora (Marzio) Galera. Devoted and loving father of Vincent (Ruth Anne), Tina (Robert) and Frank. Much loved grandfather of Ryan, Richard, Willow, Joshua, Savannah and great grandchildren James and Julius. Survived by his sister Giovannina. Predeceased by his mother Felicia (1987), his father Vincenzo (1979), his son Richard (1977) and his great grandson Braxis (2007). Although a very proud Canadian and Londoner, Salvatore immigrated to London, Ontario from Calabria, Italy and owned and operated restaurant and tailoring businesses in which he developed life-long friendships, He will be sadly missed by his family, cousins, nieces, friends and patrons whose lives he touched. We would like to thank doctors, Dr. John Yoo, Dr. Scott Hamilton and Dr. Scott Anderson as well as all the nurses and staff of Victoria Hospital for their professionalism, tender loving care and compassion. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street on Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Sunday evening at 8:15 o'clock.
