Suddenly at his residence on Thursday April 3, 2003, Syl Basacco beloved son of Maria Angela and the late Nicola Basacco, in his 49th year. Cherished brother of Nino and his wife Kim, Linda D'Andrea and her husband Vince, Rock and his wife Lena. Loving uncle of Erin, Kayla, Frank, Marisa, Andrew, Nick, Patricia, and David, his godson. Also dearly love by his aunt Teresa Palleschi and her late husband Arduino, and aunt Checchina in Italy. Syl will be missed by his cousins in Canada and Italy, co-workers, employees, his customers and his many friends. Syl was the proud owner of La Casa Ristorante and the Black Trumpet Restaurant. He was an inspiration to many people. Syl always put other people ahead of himself and he treated everyone as his family. Syl now you can look down on us from heaven with Dad. We love you and will always keep you in our hearts. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday evening from 7-9 o'clock and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Sunday evening at 8 o'clock. In lieu of flowers. donations to the St. Mary's Catholic Church Restoration Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
