Sister Aloysia Van Dorresteyn At Ignatia Hall at Mount St. Joseph, London, Ontario on Friday, December 7, 2001 Sister Aloysia Van Dorresteyn (Mary) of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London in her 87th year and her 69th year of religious life. Lovingly remembered by her sister Matilda (Sister Cajetan of the Sisters of St. Joseph), Margaret Casey of St. Thomas and Rita McCann of Stratford and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Lambertha (Vander Velden) Van Dorresteyn, her brothers Charlie (Brother De Sales) and Joseph, her sister Betty Tyers and Gertrude Kramers. Sister Aloysia began her teaching ministry in 1935 at St. Martin's School, London, Ontario adn taught in schools throughout Ontario, Alberta and Yellowknife, NWT over a span of 45 years. From 1963 to 1969 she was involved in ministry within the congregation. In Sister Aloysia's retirement years she continued using her gifts in Parish ministry at Sacred Heart Parish, Ingersoll and in 1986 she retired and moved to Mount St. Joseph. Resting at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1486 Richmond Street, London on Saturday December 8 after 4 o'clock. Wake service will be held at Mount St. Joseph, London on Saturday evening, December 8 at 7:30 o'clock. Mass of the Ressurection will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Chapel, Mount St. Joseph, London on Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London on Monday morning December 10 at 9 o'clock. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
