Sister St. Patrick Joyce At Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph, on Wednesday July 4, 2001 Sister St. Patrick Joyce (Monica Mary) of the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London in her 80th year and 56th year of religious life. Lovingly remembered by her brother Reg Joyce of Chatham, her nephews Patrick and John Joyce, her nieces Maureen (Ivan) Pepper, Mary Anne (Fred) Bell, Paula Wild all of Chatham and Jill Joyce and Craig Forgrave of Victoria B.C. Remembered also by grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins. Especially remembered by her sisters in the congregration of St. Joseph, London Diocese and by her many friends in recovery. Predeceased by her parents Josie and Patrick Joyce, her brothers Leo and Jack Joyce and her sister-in-law Veronica Joyce. Sister St. Patrick served as nursing supervisor at St. Joseph's Hospitals in London and Sarnia. She dedicated 56 years of her life in ministry to recovering alcoholics. She was the founder and director of St. Joseph's Hospital detoxification centre, London and founder of St. Stephen's homes for recovering alcoholics. At Westover Treatment Centre in Thamesville, Sister was a founding board member and an addition to the Westover building was dedicated and named in her honour as the St. Patrick Building. Sister St. Patrick served on many boards and was recognized with awards from the Addiction Research Foundation and the alcohol and drug recovery Association of Ontario as well as the London City Police Department. Resting at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1486 Richmond Street, on Thursday July 5th 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Vigil service at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse on Thursday, July 5th 2001 at 7:30 P.M. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Chapel, Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1486 Richmond Street North, on Friday, July 6th 2001 at 10 A.M.
