Obituary of Marion Lillian Johnston
Johnston
On Thursday, February 10, 2011 at LHSC University Hospital, Marion Lillian Johnston in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Joe Johnston (July 2009). Marion was predeceased by her parents Florence and William McMillan, her brother Maitland and her sisters Irene Geddes and Doris Hook. She is survived by several brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews. Marion was a remarkable lady who didn't let her blindness hold her back. She worked full time at Victoria Hospital in the X-ray department until her retirement and was involved with the Ladies social group at the CNIB where she ran a news column for many years. Marion was very active as well. In earlier years she belonged to a bowling league, went on several trips and for numerous years went to summer camp for the blind. She was a well liked, outgoing, intelligent, independent lady. She will be sorely missed by her good friends Norma Cowell, Bunny Dowling, Teresa Anglin, Anita and Mick Langley, (Mary Anne Proux, Larry Finn and Sarah Lucier of St. John the Divine Parish), and her former and fellow residents and staff at Inspirit. Visitors will be received at St. John the Divine Church, 390 Baseline Road West, on Saturday morning, February 12th from 9:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the CNIB or London Humane Society would be appreciated.
