Obituary of Carmelo Lipari

Lipari, Carmelo On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer Carmelo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sicily, Italy on November 8, 1933. Carmelo leaves behind his devoted wife of 62 years, Maria (Salvadore), his loving daughter Tina Carapella (Mario) and beloved son Santo Lipari (Lori). Most cherished grandchildren Bianca Locke (Ed), Erika Oakes (Kevin) and Michael Lipari and great grandchildren Isabella and Michael Locke and Noah Oakes. He will be greatly missed by extended family, nieces, nephews and many friends. Carmelo was an active member of the Sicilian Club of London, where he enjoyed being in the presence of his many companions. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street at York Street, on Saturday morning March 2, 2013 at 10 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Friday evening at 8:15 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program c/o the London Health Sciences Foundation.
